Egsa SoftWorks Selects First Sound Entertainment to Score Up Coming Video Game

(August 28, 2008) – Chicago based game developer Egsa SoftWorks today announced its selection of accomplished composer Alan Brown and his First Sound Entertainment production company to score upcoming releases from the indie game developer’s R&D2 Team.

Alan Brown’s First Sound Entertainment (www.firstsoundentertainment.com) specializes in creating music for film, television, commercials, multimedia and video games. Established in 2004, First Sound Entertainment’s Alan Brown has over 15 years of experience in composition.

“Alan’s work embodies the passion and magic of gaming. His lush, enchanted soundscapes made him the perfect choice to create themes for our game world. When you play a game, the music transports the player to game world – Alan’s score is not just an accompaniment or a backdrop but an active force that propels the gamer.” said Trish Summers, head of Gamer Support for Egsa SoftWorks.

First Sound Entertainment’s music has had featured placements in various music libraries and its founders work has is featured prominently in various independent film score credits. The Egsa SoftWorks title is currently in development by the indie developer’s R&D2 team and is slated for a late 2008/early 2009 release.

Giving Through Video Gaming: Gamers Unite to Help Fight Breast Cancer

(July 14, 2008) – True video gaming is about more than achieving the highest score, it is about building communities through play. Community is about helping others. In this spirit, The Gamer’s Garage Podcast along with Gaming 4 Others is presenting the Walk for Breast Cancer Tournament. The online video game tournament will be held on August 2, 2008. Egsa Outfitters (EO) is proud to help donate giveaways on The Gamer’s Garage Podcast and Website for randomly selected gamers that register for the tournament

Kim Pora, has participated in the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure’s The Breast
Cancer 3-Day® walk. Last year she walked 60 miles and helped raised over $2,500 in funds to help find a cure (http://08.the3day.org/goto/kimpora). As the Public Relations Manager for video game podcast and website, The Gamer’s Garage www.thegamersgarage.com), the cause is close to her heart and has fuelled her desire to participate again in 2008. According to Kim Pora, “There is no life that has not been touched in some way by breast cancer. The Gamer’s Garage has always focused on bringing gamers from all gaming communities together. This tournament helps bring everyone together to help fight for a world that might someday be free of this disease.”

The game tournament will be a single elimination 4 vs. 4 in Halo 3 for the Xbox 360.
The event will be held on August 2, 2008. Registration is $5 per person, $20 per team.
Individuals who sign up will be randomly placed with a team lacking players. 100% of all
donations and entry fees will go directly to the Susan G. Komen foundation for the cure.

We make Video Games for PDA, Desktop & Laptop PC and other devices. We offer a fun atmosphere driven by creative and passion. We work with team members across North America.

Typical Missions Include:

  • Creating manuals and documentation for games and products.
  • Assisting in game launch events, contests and discussion groups.
  • Moderating site forums and feedback pages
  • Establishing first contact with the external sites and fansites.
  • Providing feedback summaries and suggestions to game development teams based on gamer responses.

Key Attributes:

  • Love of video gaming
  • A working knowledge of video game history or a strong desire to learn.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.

Prospective interns should be able to work remotely but touch base once per week using e-mail, VOIP or our forums. Our internship program is a great way to learn about the gaming from the inside.

  • About 1-2 days week/10 hours per week for 3-4 months per tour of duty

Egsa SoftWorks Announces Fight for the Future Contest

(January 7, 2008) – Chicago based indie game developer Egsa SoftWorks today announced its first contest of 2008, the Egsa “Fight for the Future Contest”. The contest which encourages gamers to help independent developers fight to bring innovation and passion back to video gaming, invites gamers to search for answers to one of a series of three trivia questions for a chance to win one of three prize packages. A prize package will be awarded for the first correct response to each posted question. To emphasize the importance of not overlooking smaller, independent games and developers, every correct answer in the contest has been left in plain sight on various parts of the website.

(3) First Prize Winners will be selected to receive: one (1) Egsa SoftWorks Limited Edition T-shirt; one (1) Egsa Mouse Pad and one (1) Egsa HeroPoints(tm) electronic gift certificate worth 5-points of Egsa SoftWorks Online Store credit from The Egsa Outfitters(tm).
